As a country music fan, I find it distressing that there isn't a place in Sioux City where people can go to enjoy country music, dancing, and an all-around good time.  At least, I'm not aware of any place.

I have had several discussions with various friends about this very subject - and that I would like to open and/or operate a country bar - and I always get the same answer.... "It would not work!"  Why not?!   

It seems to me that a city the size of Sioux City should be able to support a country bar.  Why is it that Sioux City cannot, or will not, support a country venue? 

I remember going to the Stage Coach and having a great time.  Granted, there were fights and disturbances just as there are in any other bar/club setting.  However, the atmosphere seemed to offer enough of a variety that even those occassional disturbances didn't matter much. 

What do you think?  Do you think that Sioux City could support a country bar again?  If not, why?  Or, are we stuck to the local bar scene and just have to see who gets to the juke box first to play music?
